Custom home theater with projector, acoustic panels, sconces and leather recliners

Design-Build, Start to Finish

Home Theater Design & Installation

One team plans and builds the whole room, from the first consult and seating layout to final calibration. Free in-home consultation across North Jersey.

What Is Included

Every part of the room is designed to work together, so nothing is an afterthought.

Layout

Room Layout & Seating Platform

We plan the room around the screen: seat rows, sightlines, aisle space and, where the room calls for it, a raised riser platform drawn to scale before anything is built.

Picture

Screen & Projector

Screen size matched to your room and seating distance. 4K or 8K front projectors, and acoustic screens that let the speakers sit behind the picture.

Sound

Speaker Layout, 5.1 to 11.1

From 5.1 and 7.1 to 9.1 Dolby Atmos and 11.1 immersive, with in-wall and in-ceiling speakers placed on a plan, not guessed.

Wiring

Prewiring

Speaker, projector, network and control wiring run before the walls close, so the finished room has no cables on show.

Room

Acoustic Treatment & Finishes

Acoustic panels, wall panels and paint chosen together, including painted speaker grills that blend into the wall color.

Mood

Lighting & Sconces

Sconces, ceiling lights and accent lighting set up so the room dims for movie night and still feels good for guests.

Comfort

Theater Seating

Recliners or sofas picked for the room size and platform, with the row spacing worked out in the layout.

Control

Rack, Control & Calibration

A tidy equipment rack, a universal remote that runs the whole room, then final calibration and a walkthrough with you.

Designed Before It Is Built

A platform drawing, seating plan and finish choices you can see first, then rooms like these.

Home Theater Design FAQ

Straight answers before you book the free consultation.

How is design-build different from just installing a theater?

A design-build job starts with the whole room: layout, seating, screen, speakers, wiring, acoustics, lighting and finishes are planned together. If you already have a room and only need equipment installed, see our custom home theater installation page.

Do I need a platform or riser for my seating?

Not always. A raised platform helps back-row seats see over the front row, and we draw it to scale as part of the layout so you can decide before anything is built. Small rooms with a single row may not need one.

Which speaker layout is right for my room?

It depends on the room size, ceiling and how many seats you need. We design layouts from 5.1 and 7.1 up to 9.1 Dolby Atmos and 11.1 immersive, and we recommend one during your free consultation.

Can you work with my builder or architect?

Yes. If you are building or renovating, send us your plans so prewiring can happen before the walls close. Basement project? See basement theater construction.

Which brands do you work with?

We carry and install every major audio, video and smart home brand, including names like Sony, Epson, Denon, Klipsch, KEF, SpeakerCraft and MartinLogan. We choose equipment for your room and budget, not the other way around.

Ready to Plan Your Theater?

Tell us about the room. Ray and the team will take it from there.
